The Challenge
Design a geothermal system for a luxury residence with complex architectural requirements and high performance expectations, within a constrained urban site. The design needed to achieve exceptional efficiency while minimising visual and acoustic impact.
Our Role
4EE led the complete engineering design process from feasibility through to detailed design, specification, and construction oversight. We worked closely with the architect and builder to ensure seamless integration.
Technical Solution
Innovative borehole field layout optimised for the site constraints, with high-efficiency heat pumps and integrated control systems for whole-house comfort. The system includes underfloor heating, radiant cooling, and domestic hot water provision.
Outcome
Successfully commissioned system achieving design performance targets, with ongoing monitoring demonstrating energy savings exceeding 60% compared to conventional systems. The owners report exceptional comfort and minimal operating costs.
